Get Homework Help From The Experts: University Libraries Launch Research Paper Refuge – Today @ Wayne

Students are encouraged to seek expert help with their homework from university libraries through the new Research Papers Safehouse.

The program provides a regular virtual space for planning help with paper research, organization or citation of source through Zoom. Research Paper Refuge is available from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. Thursday and 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. Friday – join a session during those hours here, or register through Get Involved.

This resource is available for students working on research papers, group projects, syntheses, theses or articles intended for publication. It provides a way for students to stay on track with their long-term research and writing goals, and aims to build a community of writers who can help serve as a supportive accountability group.

The program was developed by junior Zunaira Imran and librarians Veronica Bielat, Monique Oldfield and Katrina Byrne after working together on quotes for a research publication Imran was writing. Its realization was the result of a collaborative effort between the students, the WSU libraries and the Academic Success Center.

“It can be especially difficult to focus on classes when working from home, so sometimes long-term plans can be put aside,” said Imran, who is an Honors student at Irvin D. Reid Honors College. in biochemistry and psychology. “Wayne State Librarians are a great resource – they have a wealth of knowledge and work to create a community focused on helping students.”

In addition to the Research Paper Refuge, WSU Libraries offer individual study spaces by reservation only and a host of remote services, including the Ask-a-Librarian tool, which allows students to chat 24/7. / 7 with a live librarian via chat. or Zoom, thematic consultations, access to technology, etc. Learn more online.
