Kohima Educational Society Announces Essay Writing Competition | Morung Express

Kohima, September 24 (MExN): True to its broader educational mandate and to encourage reading and writing within Naga society, the Kohima Educational Society (KES) is organizing an essay competition on the theme “Challenges facing a traditional society moving through modernity” .

The top winning and selected essays will be published in book form as part of the report, organizers informed in a press release. The competition is organized with the aim of encouraging writing among all age groups and to experience the power of words and derive strength and responsibility from them; encourage enthusiastic writers to document folklore and family history; and emerge as a transparent and neutral platform for sharing ideas that build the human mind.

The Essay Writing Competition will be held in categories with the following structures:

There will be no entrance fee. Handwritten essays will be rejected. Participants are requested to submit typed essays via email to [email protected]

Entries must include full name; Date of Birth; Proof of identity for address: valid school identity card / Aadhar card / driver’s license or voter card; and contact number.

A group of six judges, three for each category, will evaluate the competition. Judges will be selected from distinguished members of society in their respective fields.

Results will be announced by the end of November with the 3rd edition of the Dr Gordon Graham Prize for Naga Literature, 2021. Essay competition winners will also have the opportunity to interact with senior Naga writers.
